Bot statuses

The status of the bot is shown on its card on the main page
https://veles.finance/cabinet

“AWAITING SIGNAL”

The bot has been successfully launched, and it is waiting for the match of all the filters set for it to start in order to place orders on the exchange. If the bot is created without filters (setting for advanced users), it will open the deal immediately. If the bot is configured to select an entry point (recommended setting), then it will wait until all the filters match completely.

Sometimes you have to wait a few hours or even days, and that’s fine.

If several indicators are configured, the bot will check all the installed indicators if one of them indicates an entry point.
The order in which the indicators are displayed in the bot editor does not matter, the check goes from the older timeframes to the younger ones.

Example:
At 13:00, the bot receives a signal from the TF indicator for 1 hour, but the indicator for 5 minutes
did not give an entry point .
After that the indicator with TF 1 hour will “light up” (allow entry) all the time from 13:00 to 14:00.
On the candle from 13:20 to 13:25, the bot receives a signal from the indicator with a TF of 5 minutes. Therefore, the bot will check that there is a signal at both 1 hour and 5 minutes, and at 13:25 it will open the deal.

You can calculate and display all the possible starting points of the bot for the past 30 days (but no more that 1000 of signals):

  1. Under the Bot Start Filters click the Calculate button (works only when all the indicators are set to “At bar closing” mode).
  2. Click the “Show signals” button.
  3. At the top left corner of the graph select the smallest time frame used in the Bot start filters (for example, “1 min” or “5 min”). The bot would start the deal at the opening of the candle marked with the arrow. Until the position is closed (bot has status “RUNNING”) this bot will ignore all the new signals.
  4. If the signals are too rare for you, you can change the Bot start filters. Now it is possible to create a bot without filters at all, which enters into the deal without choosing an entry point – just in a few seconds. Caution – this is a very risky setup, and can cause serious losses if used incorrectly!

If you see the recent signal in the “Show signals” results, but bot did not open the deal, check the “Locks” in your Profile (for the API Binding used in this bot).

Since the bot calculates entry points based on indicators, and indicators, unlike a human trader, are just “calculators”, sometimes they calculate the point successfully, sometimes not very well, and sometimes they skip good options. We are all searching for such settings/combinations of indicators in order to end up with statistically more good points caught than good points missed or bad points caught. Missed points are the price for not sitting in front of the monitor around the clock, a bot does it for us. A human skips entry points while sleeping, and a bot skips because of settings that you can improve over time based on your experience.

RUNNING

After all the indicators for the start match (or after a forced entry into the deal) the bot places orders on the exchange (and also picks up an existing position there, if it is configured to do so). If there was no existing position, and the bot’s orders did not work (the price went the other way from the limit order, there are no executed orders), and at the same time an offset for the “Pull up” is reached – the bot deletes the orders and goes back to the “Awaiting signal” state.

When a bot is in a deal, a card for its active deal also appears on the page
https://veles.finance/cabinet/deals

“AWAITING TERMINATION”

If you press the “Stop” button on the bot that runs the deal, it does not drop it, but brings it to the end – until the execution of closing orders (Take profits or Stop loss), and only then the bot stops. In this status, the bot is still running the deal!
How to stop a bot correctly is described in our article.

“TERMINATED”

The bot is turned off completely, does nothing.

“FAILED”

A red stripe with the error message on the bot’s card. The bot also does nothing, does not monitor the position and orders. You need to go to the exchange and check the balance, position, and orders.

Error descriptions are described here:
https://help.veles.finance/en/types-of-bot-errors/

If the causes of the error are resolved, then the bot can be started again. Here the user will be offered two options:

Start a new deal.
If the old deal has already been processed (on futures – the position is closed, the orders are deleted, on spot – the coin is sold or, conversely, bought, and the orders are deleted), then the bot can start from scratch, choose this option.

Restart the deal.
If the bot stopped due to a lack of balance (on the exchange or in the service), or due to accidental deletion of an order, and the reasons for the stop are understood and eliminated, then you can continue the deal from the point where the stop occurred. The bot will pick up the position, re-place orders if necessary, and continue working.
